Salkantay Trek - Fantastic trek with the BEST guide

My friend and I did the Salkantay Trek with Elvin in 2016 and it is still an experience I share and recommend regularly. Right off the bat, Elvis was helpful and attentive. A couple weeks before the trip, I reached out about advice around how to be best prepared for it... Elvis responded with a list of items to bring and even gave us recommendations on where to stay and for how long in Cuzco so we could get used to the altitude (highly recommended you stay a few nights, btw). When we finally go to Cuzco, Elvis met with us right away, made sure we had everything we needed for the trip and even provided two sleeping bags since ours weren't built for the cold we'd be facing. From then on, Elvis was the best guide ever. He talked to us about the cultures and people of the area, explained a lot of the flora and fauna we were passing and even told us of stories/folklore about the mountains and some of the ancient people. He knew EVERYTHING and in the few moments that we weren't mesmerized by the views we were learning and talking with a man we considered a friend by the end of the 4 days. Also, during the trip, Elvis tailored the routes and speed to the group... he understood we wanted a bit of a challenge and took our interests into account which made the trek even more enjoyable. I cannot say enough about Elvis and that trip, it was the best trekking experience of my life and I can honestly say Elvis had a lot to do with it. Elvis, if you're reading this, Thank you! And to anyone considering doing this trip, do yourself a favor and book with this guy already... you won't regret it.
