Sacred Valley / Lares Trek
Kenko (and our guide Elvis) spared no detail in our 4 day trek on the Lares route and visit to Machupiccu. The logistics, guiding, meals, and overall experience was incredible. We live in Ecuador, and having done a fair amount of trekking in the Andes, we were a little leary to visit the Sacred Valley (this time with our kids) after more than 20 years. The multitude of tourists there can be a overwhelming. The Lares trek was just what we were looking for. Just us, our thoughts, the lamas, and native campesinos during our 3 day hike.
If you are going to Machupiccu, speak with Elvis about the best times to avoid the crowds. Spend an extra night in Aguas Calientes, and enjoy the afternoon / evening at the remains onces the majority tourists have left.
