Itinerary
Itinerary of Inca Trail Camping 2 (Days)
The short inca trail with camping start in Cusco city, where we'll pick you up from your hotel at 6:00 am in our private transportation along with your professional tour guide. After a 1-hour and 30-minute drive, we'll reach Ollantaytambo train station. At 7:45 am, you'll board the expedition class train, offering a 1 hour and 10-minute ride with stunning views of the Andes Mountains and Glaciers of the Sacred Valley. The landscape transforms as we enter tropical forests, reaching km 104 where our hike on the short Inca Trail begins.
Before starting the hike, we'll proceed to the main checkpoint with our pre-arranged documentation and tickets. Restrooms are available for your convenience.
Our hike kicks off with a visit to the archaeological site named Chachabamba, followed by a moderate climb through lush biodiversity. This area is rich in endemic orchids and fern species. After a few hours, we'll pause at a small waterfall for a break and snacks before visiting the second archaeological site, Wiñayhuayna. Our Kenko Adventures tour guide will provide insights into the site's ancient function, and you'll have free time to explore on your own.
Continuing our hike, we'll reach the last campsite for 4-day Inca Trail hikers, where we'll stop for lunch (a box lunch is included for everyone). This section of the trail involves easier terrain with ups and downs until we reach Inti Punku (Sun Gate). Here, you'll enjoy the first fantastic view of Machu Picchu Citadel from the Inca Trail.
After capturing photos from the Sun Gate, we'll continue for another 40 minutes downhill to reach Machu Picchu for our first day's visit. The day concludes with a visit to Machu Picchu and a chance to enjoy the sunset. We'll then board our bus to the Butterfly House campsite, situated at the base of Machu Picchu next to the Urubamba River, where you can unwind and enjoy the happy hour, and enjoy your camping on short inca trail 2 days.
After a over night Camping by Short Inca Trail 2 days you should start your day very early for several reasons: to take one a first bus to Machu Picchu and witness the breathtaking Machu Picchu sunrise and embark on a walking tour with your private guide. This early start allows you to explore the site with fewer people around and avoid long queues to enter Machu Picchu. Your guide will then lead you to the best vantage points for the sunrise and commence a walking tour within the Machu Picchu Inca city.
Once inside the citadel, our clients will enjoy a private walking tour lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes, exploring the best parts of this wonder. There will also be time to visit interesting places like Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (we recommend booking these tickets at least 2 months in advance).
Upon concluding the tour, clients will board a bus to Aguas Calientes, where they can have lunch before catching the VISTADOME TRAIN with a 360-degree view, according to the arranged schedule, to Ollantaytambo train station. From there, our private transportation will pick you up and take you back to Cusco city, directly to your hotel. This marks the end of our services. all inclisive service tour day

How is the climate in Cusco?
The climate in our country is very variant and does not consider the normal 4 seasons. Here, in just one day we can see all of the seasons! And this is why we recommend our visitors to be prepared for any occasion, either for rain or sunny days.
A very important factor which alter our world is global warming, which has evolved into a high risky contributor due to the glaciers melting in Peruvian Andes, and it also affect the normal development of our weather.
Nonetheless, something that is very marked in our country and in some cities here in the Andes is that we only have 2 main seasons during the year:
Dry Season: We consider the dry season from the end of April until the end of September, in this period the first rains will start. For this reason, this is the best time to visit our region and our amazing Machu Picchu and also avoid any inconveniences.
Rainy Season: This season starts on October until the end of April approximately, so during this time it is advised to all of our visitors to pack their belongings into waterproof bags, as in our region it can be sunny the first 2 hours and then have a heavy rain.
We know that there are extreme climates worldwide, but this must not stop us from our longing and desire to explore the world, to discover marvelous cultures and interact with them. Be welcomed to PerĂş and Machu Picchu.
