Day 01: Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Your Classic Inca Trail adventure begins in Cusco city, where we will pick you up from your hotel at 5:00 am with our private transportation and dedicated staff, setting the stage for this exciting journey. We will then drive through the picturesque Sacred Valley until we reach the charming Inca town of Ollantaytambo, arriving at around 7:30 am. Here, we will pause for a hearty breakfast before continuing our journey to Piscacucho, also known as Kilometer 82, which marks the official starting point of your 4 Days Inca Trail hike.

The initial part of your Inca hike is mostly flat, offering captivating views of the archaeological site of Ccanamarka and the lush Andean landscapes. After approximately 2 hours, we will reach the small village of Miskay, where the path starts its gentle ascent. Another half-hour or so will bring us to our first archaeological site: Patallacta.

Our expert guide will provide fascinating insights and information about this ancient site before we continue for a few more minutes to our delightful lunch spot. In the afternoon, the Inca hike will take a maximum of 1.5 hours to reach the Wayllabamba community, where our comfortable campsite for the night is located.

At the end of this invigorating first day, you'll have the opportunity for a refreshing hot shower (we provide facilities, just bring your personal towels) before meeting our entire dedicated staff, including our professional chef, cooking assistant, and most importantly, our incredible porters. Day 02: Conquer the Heights in Style: Inca Trail Glamping

Embark on an exciting second-day adventure, starting with a steaming cup of coca tea and a hearty breakfast to fuel your journey. Our chef has stocked us up with purified water and nourishing snacks for this challenging yet rewarding day of your 4 day Inca Trail.

The trek truly begins with a three-hour journey through approximately 2000 Inca steps, surrounded by lush vegetation and glimpses of native wildlife. Keep an eye out for llamas, alpacas, deer, and vibrant birdlife that call this unique ecosystem home. We'll reach the scenic Llulluchapampa for a well-deserved break with facilities and snacks.

We then continue for 2.5 hours through less vegetated, more high-Andean terrain to the summit of Dead Womanā€™s Pass at a majestic 4,215 meters (13,828 feet). This is the highest point of the Classic Inca Trail 4 Days, a true personal victory! From this vantage point, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Sacred Valley, the towering peaks of Wayanay and Pumacillo, and the vast Machu Picchu National Reserve.

Planning your Peru trek is exciting, and Kenko Adventures ensures you are well-prepared. We provide a duffel bag for your personal items (up to 6 kg) and sleeping bag. Our porters or horses carry these bags, along with our camping equipment and food. For your Inca Trail or alternative hikes to Machu Picchu, we highly recommend hiking pants, long-sleeved T-shirts, fleeces, and waterproof jackets. During the rainy season, a rain poncho or jacket and rain pants are essential, as weather changes frequently. For camping nights, warm clothing, including a down jacket, is crucial.
