Inti Punku Machu Picchu - Sungate

Some studies that have been carried out reveal that this complex, possibly, had been built in order to be a ceremonial space, it is also surmised that this site could have responded in addition to military purposes, since it has a wonderful view of the surroundings, which would have allowed to see the enemies before they reached the citadel of Machu Picchu.

As part of the inca trail, the Inti Punku is located 1 km from Machu Picchu and 2720 meters above sea level. The Inti Punku is not only interesting because of the structures it presents and its location, but also because it is in itself a fantastic viewpoint, from which you can get a great view of the citadel of Machu Picchu and the Vilcanota River, in conjunction with the valley. From this place, Huayna Picchu is also contemplated, a hill that seems to share the structural trends of Machu Picchu, although to a lesser extent.

It is also part of the attractions of the archaeological site of Inti Punku, a system of andenerías, architectural structures for agricultural purposes, constant in the buildings bequeathed by the Inca civilization.
