Huayna Picchu mountain
Huayna Picchu Its named from the Quechua word "Huayna Picchu" which means "Young Mountain". It must have served as a ritual place or astronomical studies in order to have closer comunication with their gods
LOCATION
It is located inside Machu Picchu Inca city, once you get into Machu Picchu Inca City, you have to take circuit number 4 then that is going to lead you direclty to Huayna Picchu entrance (do not forget to carry your Passport).
DESCRIPTION
Huayna Picchu is located to the north site of Machu Picchu city. To hike the Huayna Picchu mountain, you have reach the second checkpoint which is the entrance to Huayna Picchu and follow the path that begins a few meters behing the Sacred Rock, the Trail has very dense vegetation and in rocky formation, this path is very steep and quite narrow and includes cable railing next to stairs Trails and granite stone were carved irregularly to open the Trail through this steep mountain, there are some that appear carved into the rock itself. The ascent takes between 40 to 50 minutes aproximatly depending on the physical condition.
The breathtaking of this natural formation makes it love the Machu Picchu view from top is for those who want an unforgettable memory of the citadel view. The path to this young mountain is steep zigzagging and stairs are almost vertical with precipices, access is not too difficult, we recommended to be careful on the way beacuse you Will find people wlaking back or others walking faster remenber to stop at the mountain site tol et them go through, definitely reach the top of Huayna Picchu is a challenge but very interesting, but once you get to the peak, it is worth the effort because the view is breathtaking. Huayna Picchu has an altitude of 2,726 meters above sea level and its summit has an area of 150 m2.
IMPORTANCE
The "Huayna Picchu" gives the characteristic geographical image to the archaeological site. At the top of this mountain there are numerous constructions on the edge of the abyss that were used for
hornometal plants in diffrent species, perhaps considered sacred. There are also palaces near by the top, of which it is not known if it is a building that was never finished. From there you can see the full Machupicchu view about 450 meters down, the overall picture is impressive, the Urubamba Riveris running throgh the maen valley surrounding the whole Machu Picchu valley with green and snow-capped peaks in the background.
There are more interesting places going farter than just the top of Huayna Picchu but the peruvian govermmet decided to close down because we have sites that still need to have explore and need to be documented by archaeologists.

I had a really great time on my hike to Machu Picchu, the pain is totally worth it. Not only when you see the first glimpse of Machu Picchu but also the incredible landscape on the way. Elvis is a really great guide who makes sure you’re safe and take enough brakes. On top of that he is also really good at taking pictures, which is very rare!
...Had a great time exploring Machu Picchu and the sacred valley with Elvis from Kenko Adventures. We also did the short Inca hike and Huayna Picchu hike. My boys and I loved the hikes.
